Taliban amputate thief’s hands
By Saboor Khan HANGU: Taliban on Tuesday amputated the hands of a man in Orakzai Agency in compliance with a punishment ordered by a “Taliban court” on charges of theft, locals said. Locals told Daily Times that the “court” in the Mamuzai area ordered the hands of Najibullah to be amputated. The punishment was carried out in the presence of several tribesmen.

This is something I keep going on about, and for good reason. There is no reason that many kids should be hurt from lawnmowers!

‘Bionic’ hand helps Newport amputee - Newport, AR - Newport Independent
I added this to Amputee News with the headline, “Amputee buckles belt with i-LIMB” and carried on. After thinking about it a couple of minutes it occurred to me that only an amputee would consider buckling a belt to be headline news.

Doing things not an issue for this special person - Pontiac, IL - Pontiac Daily Leader
This is a brave and determined girl, but reading the story I thought more of the parents. I know how much my wife and I worry about our two boys when they have a cold, what must it be like for parents when the doctors tell them their child needs to have a leg amputated, is missing an arm and on top of that will have continued physical problems her whole life? In the article they seem to be doing well, but how many times have they sat up after she’s gone to bed and worried how in the hell they’ll make it to the next day?

Sask. soldier tells story of attack, recovery. Feature
The human mind is an amazing thing, “On fire and flying through the air, Master Cpl. Adam Cyr never thought he'd taste apple juice again.” The kicker is this quote from the soldier, ``I'm not even a big fan of apple juice,''. Weird. I added this story in the last update of Amputee News.
